Weekly Recs
It’s time again for you to give your weekly recs! This week we’re looking for your favourite fics/art you’ve seen over the past week and those fics/art that fit into the genre of the week!
This week the genre of fanwork recs we’re looking for is: Prompt fills! The 00Q tumblr community has many people who write short pieces for prompt fills, so this week we want your recs for those art and fic prompt fills that fill up the 00Q tag with lovely creativity.
When reccing fic/art, please can you make a separate comment with ‘Week Rec’ in the subject title. If you’re commenting anon, then just put your handle in brackets after the ‘Weekly Rec’ bit - eg Weekly Rec (cass). This just helps your friendly mod hunt down all your links and put them into the weekly rec post!
Spectre Prompt Fest!
The MI6 prompt bingo table continues! We’re releasing a new prompt every week up to when Spectre is released in the UK on November 6th. You can write/draw/create anything of your choice in response to the prompt, and you can post fills for any of the revealed prompt!
This week the prompt is: Possession
You can post your fills anywhere you like – tumblr, in the comments section of the weekly chat, to your own LJ! Feel free to link your fills in the chat, and don’t forget to tag your prompt fills with #mi6cafeprompt so everyone can share the 00Q love!

Note about tags for fic/art posts
Yay! We've seen some wonderful fic being posted to the comm! The tagging system is slowly being built, but if there is a tag you want to use for your post that doesn't yet exist (eg for a character/genre we haven't got) then just make a note in the header of the post that you would like a tag and your friendly mods shall give you one!)
Also, after you post first time we'll make you a special author/artist tag for you to use at your leisure :) Don't have to request it, we just see that you haven't got one so we add one for you!

2) Q and James are going out on a date! How would they dress up and why? Would James have to persuade Q to loose the cardigan?

Date: 2015-07-24 04:24 pm (UTC)2) After the new Spectre trailer, I'm not sure that Q would pick something other than that poloneck jumper. Although maybe James gets him a proper suit for when they go to super fancy restaurants and then the next time they have a date night Q makes them go somewhere low key because he likes his poloneck dammit. I'd like to think that James would wear something quite fashionable - maybe a polo shirt with jeans when he's being casual and a full tux when he's going somewhere posh.
3) Okay, here we go!
James: Resourceful, stubborn, proud, loyal, driven. [I think James has a lot of different facets about him, but his core personality is his drive to do what is right, and his pride and loyalty to his country].
Q: Sharp, resourceful, ambitious, witty, caring [I think Q would be just as loyal as James, but it would be a less fire-like loyalty and more caring loyalty which is why I wrote caring instead of loyal. He's clearly ambitious and driven, to be Q, and I think he would be more witty than snarky because Q likes to be sarcastic but not necessarily to other's detriment].
Eve: Intelligent, calm, fighter, strong, snarky [Eve would totally be full of snark, if she's worked with Bond in the field you have to be to survive. I think she would be quite calm, she seemed to be very in control of herself when Bond was fighting the komodo dragons in Skyfall. She's clearly smart and a fighter - both physically she could take on someone but I think she's also a fighter in personality because she moved on after supposedly shooting Mi6's best agent off a bridge and that's got to take guts]
Tanner: Patient, witty, manipulative, driven, strong [I think Tanner would have to be patient to just get through the day, otherwise his stress levels would break him. I'd like to think he and Q have joke-offs in Q branch when he brings down files. He's manipulative because he knows what makes people tick and manages to get people in the right place at the right time, but he's also driven in the sense that he wan't to continue pushing himself to overcome new challenges]
Female!M: Flawless [because Judi Dench's M is flawless and the Queen of Mi6 and she gets stuff done]
4) I'd think James would read thrillers - everything from the classics to the ones he can find in an airport when he's bored stiff. Q would read to expand his mind - anything that challenges his ideas on life he would give a go to understand the world a little better.
Bonus Question) SPECTRE SPECTRE SPECTRE. I am so pumped for this film, mostly for a) barrel rolling helicopters b) super pretty cars c) any scene where Q and James make eye contact for more than 1 second and I can use for new fic ideas.

Date: 2015-07-25 09:30 am (UTC)2) THE JUMPER. IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR EVERY OCCASION, INCLUDING INAPPROPRIATE OCCASIONS. Q's geek chic in contrast to Bond's determined formalwear gives me life.
3) Great adjectives for everybody! I love your distinctions between snarky and witty. And "that's got to take guts" for Moneypenny is right! I also enjoyed your joke exchange headcanon for Q and Bill Tanner (you and the others on the comm have successfully convinced me that Tanner is underrated!). I'm curious, how else would you characterize the relationship between those two?
Bonus question) STUNTS AND AT LEAST TWO NEW OTP SCENES. SO HERE FOR IT.
