Weekly Recs

It’s time again for you to give your weekly recs! This week we’re looking for your favourite fics/art you’ve seen over the past week and those fics/art that fit into the genre of the week!

This week the genre of fanwork recs we’re looking for is: Prompt fills! The 00Q tumblr community has many people who write short pieces for prompt fills, so this week we want your recs for those art and fic prompt fills that fill up the 00Q tag with lovely creativity.
When reccing fic/art, please can you make a separate comment with ‘Week Rec’ in the subject title. If you’re commenting anon, then just put your handle in brackets after the ‘Weekly Rec’ bit - eg Weekly Rec (cass). This just helps your friendly mod hunt down all your links and put them into the weekly rec post!

The MI6 prompt bingo table continues! We’re releasing a new prompt every week up to when Spectre is released in the UK on November 6^th. You can  write/draw/create anything of your choice in response to the prompt, and you can post fills for any of the revealed prompt!

Note about tags for fic/art posts
Yay! We've seen some wonderful fic being posted to the comm! The tagging system is slowly being built, but if there is a tag you want to use for your post that doesn't yet exist (eg for a character/genre we haven't got) then just make a note in the header of the post that you would like a tag and your friendly mods shall give you one!)

Also, after you post first time we'll make you a special author/artist tag for you to use at your leisure :) Don't have to request it, we just see that you haven't got one so we add one for you!

what does everyone make of the lack of mention of almost everything from the teaser trailer? what has Waltz's character got to do with Bond's past? Bond going off on his own personal mission omg don't touch me. and Q!!!! omg I love what we've seen of him so far. I'm mourning the lack of Eve & Tanner, and I can't wait to see what's going on with Mallory and Andrew Scott's character... oh god I need answers I need this movie now (also if you haven't already, read this (http://www.007.com/new-spectre-trailer-released/))

Thanks for the link! I still haven't seen Quantum, so this Mr. White business is a bit of a blank to me. I'll have to catch up before November!

I think the teaser trailer was more thematic so they could intrigue people with broad ideas in a short amount of time, whereas the actual trailer gave us more concrete details about what the film and characters are up to so we can start speculating and anticipating.

I really want to see what they do with Eve! I hope there are some nice HBIC things for her to do (not necessarily action if it doesn't fit the story, but I wouldn't object if she got a cool fight scene). Anyway, it should be clear that her job as M's secretary is far from a demotion after her field work!

CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE.

a lot of people shit on Quantum of Solace but i think it's a solid film. Yeah, i hated it when i saw it in theaters, but you know what? It's a continuation of casino royale and *gasp* character development of bond.

you don't see that a lot in bond films and i quite liked it. Shame that this one was bogged by the writers strike [as i have said before] sure, it's not the BEST one but it's still a good one to enjoy if you take out that the plot is let's face it, REALLY STUPID. but then again, reading other Fleming books and Garnder, the plot is actually better than some of the books i've read so.

Yeah, I heard the writer's strike left it a bit of a mess. But I think that because I am going in with fairly low expectations, I probably won't be disappointed, if that makes sense! At the very least Daniel Craig will probably get into a nicely choreographed fight? And hey, character development. Always a bonus. :P

there's a lot of nice fights. Unfortunately the villain is seriously lacking. However, it does introduce us to Quantum which is like SPECTRE light. And I'm hoping that they at least get mentioned in SPECTRE because I always thought of Quantum as a front /for/ SPECTRE.

I'm also hoping that they say that Silva was part of Quantum just as a little nod to the other movies, too.

now you have to decide: watch QoS before Spectre so you get more context, or wait to watch it with the movie club...

okay, if i am able to ever get into the movie club viewings when i can get a weekend off at work, i am going to apologize in advance of me making fun of all these movies. it's what i do. i can't help myself. SO I'M SORRY IN ADVANCE.

Everyone's got their own viewing style! And I have heard that many of the Bond movies can tip a little too far into the ridiculous at times. :P

CONTEXT. I'm normally such a sucker for continuity, but I arrived at the Bond movies a bit late. I definitely want to watch it with the movie club, too, though!
